Q. I heard some Medical Spas only do one pass with the FotoFacial IPL and it is less expensive but can leave the face uneven in color. Do you do this or is it 2 full passes on the face?

A. You are correct, some Medical Spas are doing only one pass Foto Facials on the area treated. We, however, believe in the philosophy of giving the client the best treatment we can to achieve the best results possible with that particular laser. By only doing one pass with an IPL laser you are not getting full coverage of the face which can leave your skin color uneven with a possible striped appearance. In the end you may end up needing more treatments to even out the skin tone. Please feel free to schedule a free consult with one of our experienced technicians if you have any more questions.

Q. Is laser hair treatment permanent?

A. The FDA does not allow us to say "permanent", but it is our experience that if the treatments are followed with consistency that most hair will stop growing. We have many, many clients that have completed treatments and do not have re-growth of hair. In hormonally driven areas such as the face on women and the back on men, new follicles can develop and/or hair is harder to get rid of. With each treatment the hair comes back finer and thinner and different areas treat differently than others. Also, keep in mind that all of our consultations are free of charge and that we would love to sit down with you to discuss more about the laser hair process.

Q. I know you can do hair removal on the bikini area, but is it limited to just the bikini line itself or are you able to do anything resembling Brazilian-like removal?

A. We are able to do many variations for the bikini area. We offer a regular bikini, which is just inside the panty line. The extended version is down the inner thigh and a regular bikini. The Brazilian, which just leaves hair on the pubic bone, but the labia hair is removed. And lastly, the full bikini where everything is lasered (does not include down the inner thigh).

Q. I want something to make my bags under my eyes less apparent. I have tried hemorrhoid cream and it didn't help to relieve the puffiness. What can you do to help?

A. Puffiness under the eyes can be caused by numerous factors, all of which are treated differently. If the bag is caused by loose skin, we can effectively treat it with lasers. Other times, we will refer you to our plastic surgeon, for a cosmetic surgery procedure called a Blepharoplasty. It would be best to come in for a complimentary consultation with one our experts so that we can direct you to proper procedure.

Q. Does your center use any other lasers other than the Alexandrite? I am Hispanic and have light brown/tan skin.

A. Yes, we do have another laser called the Yag laser, a Cynosure Elite laser. It is safe to use on darker skin types. However, a deep tan that is fresher then three weeks old is not safe to treat with any type of hair removal laser. We recommend that you schedule a free consultation with Jody. She will help you find a laser that works best for you.

Q. Is the permanent eyeliner a tattoo? Is it painful? How much does it cost?

A. Yes, the permanent eyeliner is a tattoo. Anne Marie will apply a numbing agent to the eyeliner area 15 minutes before the actual procedure, which helps with the pain. For both the upper and lower eyeliner it is $500. If you would like to just get upper but not the lower (or vice versa), it will be $250. Please keep in mind that at the time of booking your appointment, you are required to make a deposit of $100 to hold your spot. That $100 will be applied to your treatment the day of your appointment but will be lost if there is a no show or a last minute cancellation (within 24 hours).

Q. I have a real tattoo eyeliner, I want to know if it is possible to be removed?

A. There are many different pigments used to tattoo eyeliner. Some are ion oxide based and others are organic. Our suggestion would be to find out exactly what kind of pigment you have and then search for a reputable tattoo removal clinic. Be certain that the clinic is experienced in eyeliner removal specifically.

Q. I was wondering about getting hair removal on my chest but I am a woman. Do you work with a lot of people like that?

A. Yes, it is not an uncommon area to be treated. Most women have hair on their breasts but no one seems talks about it. We do offer free consultations with a laser technician.

Q. My husband sweats excessively. He's tried every antiperspirant out there but still suffers. It's so bad that all of his shirts have stains under the arms that I can't get rid of (not to mention the smell.) Are there any treatments available to help him?

A. Excessive perspiration, also known as Hyperhidrosis, can be very embarrassing to both men and women. Thankfully we can help treat this condition without expensive and invasive surgeries. By injecting Botox® into the sweat glands we can help to significantly improve this condition. Many clients also treat problem areas with laser hair removal for best results.

Q. I've been told I have what are called cherry angiomas that are in clusters all over my stomach. I am very sensitive about their appearance and was wondering if there is anything I can do to fade or remove them?

A. Cherry angiomas very common - they appear as bright red spots on the surface of the skin and are benign. The good news is that we can easily remove them with a simple laser procedure.

Q. I have a rather large skin tag on my neck and every time I wear a necklace it gets caught up on it. It's starting to give me the willies and I want it removed! What's the process?

A. Skin tags are skin growths that look like a small piece of hanging skin. Skin tags commonly appear on eyelids, neck, armpits, upper chest (particularly under the female breasts), and groin folds - usually where skin rubs against skin or clothing. Removal is a simple process that can be done in our office by our physician.

Q. Can you do laser hair removal anywhere? It seems like I have hair all over and I'm afraid your technicians will be grossed out if I come in.

A. Unwanted hair can be a sensitive issue for both men and women. Our technicians are used to working with clients to help them feel better about themselves - we don't want you to feel embarrassed coming to us for help. We can treat unwanted hair almost anywhere on the body - most common treatment areas are the face, underarms, legs, backs, and bikini areas. We promise to treat you with kindness and respect.

Q. My sister is undergoing chemotherapy treatments and has lost her hair, eyebrows and eyelashes. As you can imagine, she's very uncomfortable going out in public. I know you do laser hair removal, but do you do anything to help stimulate hair growth?

A. We are pleased to offer Latisse™. Latisse™ is a topical treatment that is commonly used to increase eyelash length and fullness, but it is also very effective in growing eyelashes and eyebrows in many chemotherapy patients. We would love to talk to your sister to see if this treatment is a good fit for her.
