General Information

BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport® and dermal fillers dramatically diminish unwanted lines, wrinkles, deep folds, and volume loss to restore your skin to a more youthful and relaxed appearance. Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are substances that are injected into the dermis of the skin to reduce lines, wrinkles and folds. They are also used to enhance the fullness or shape of the lips and in some cases, the chin and cheeks. Dermal fillers can consist of collagen, hyaluronic acid or calcium crystals. Both collagen and hyaluronic acid products are biologically similar so both are very safe and do not require pretesting for allergic reactions. Dermal Fillers vary in duration depending on the type used and physiological differences in individuals. The following paragraph describe the differences in types of dermal fillers. They can have immediate results and can last from 6-18 months. In most cases additional injections may be recommended at 6 month intervals for optimal duration.

Selphyl® NEW!

How it works:

A small amount of blood is collected from the patient, which is put into a centrifuge that divides components of the blood. The thickened serum that is produced is platelets and fibrin; this PRMF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix) is then put back into the skin for facial rejuvenation. A release of growth factors from platelets activates cell growth and collagen is produced, skin elasticity is improved and the ability to retain moisture is restored.

RADIESSE®

This dermal filler is made of calcium hydroxylappetite, based from the natural collagen found in bone. The product actually stimulates your own collagen and the results can last anywhere from one year to 18 months. It's the next generation filler that is often used to build up cheeks, and fill-in folds around the nose and mouth. RADIESSE® is wonderful for restoring hands to a more youthful appearance as well.

JUVÉDERM®

This is a soft tissue dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid that naturally occurs in your body. It's by the makers of BOTOX® Cosmetic and is the "next generation" dermal filler offering a natural look and feel with long lasting results. It's effective for filling-in deep folds or creases in the face, and for augmenting lips. You'll see immediate improvement and lasting results for up to 12 months.

Restylane®

This soft tissue dermal filler is also made of natural hyaluronic acid and is designed to provide volume and fullness to the skin. It can correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as the lines from your nose to your mouth. It is also indicated for replacing volume in the cheeks and lips as well as providing greater contour changes. Results can last approximately 12 to 18 months with a follow up regimen prescribed by your injection specialist.
