Q:How does Affirm™ Work?

A:What makes the collagen-boosting Affirm™ laser treatment such an effective procedure for skin rejuvenation is the fact that it combines multiple energies into a single, fractional laser treatment to tighten the skin. The laser intensively creates a micro-thermal treatment zone while leaving surrounding healthy tissue unaffected. Recovery times are greatly reduced while the healing process is sped up. Additionally, the growth of new collagen is initiated, replacing old, problem tissue with new, firmer skin on the face, neck, chest, arms and hands.

Unlike other fractional lasers, Affirm™ uses two distinct wavelengths or colors of light, 1440 nm and 1320 nm. 1440 nm penetrates into the superficial dermis to target the zone of maximal sun damage, while 1320 nm penetrates very deeply to provide deep collagen heating and tissue tightening.

Q:How many treatments can I expect?

A:For optimum benefits, 3 to 6 treatments are required over the course of 3 to 6 months. You can continue to wear cosmetics during this time. Within about a week, you should see the first signs of skin rejuvenation, with noticeable improvements at around 2 months. During your course of treatment, and for at least 3 months following your final procedure, you should be conscientious about using sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.

Q:What are the benefits of using the Affirm™ over Fraxel® or other fractional technology?

 Downtime is minimal, resume normal activity after 24 hours.
Less painful treatments with fewer side effects.
Treatment time for Affirm™ is shorter than other treatment times. Expect to be at the office for 1/2 to 1 hour.
No oral medications are needed. Application of a topical anesthetic is applied at Harmony Laser Center one hour prior to your treatment time.
